Lisa Carbrey has always enjoyed photography and travel, especially to Ireland. Her great grandparents came to the USA from Ireland. Michael Coughlan came from Castlerea, Co Roscommon and Nora McGrath came from Co Cork to eventually settle in the Boston area. She made her first visit to Ireland with her parents in 1986 and was amazed by the beauty and scenery. It was 1995 before her next trip which was the start of many more regular visits. After many trips and a lot of photographs, Celtic Scenes came into existence. Lisa makes several trips a year as time allows to visit family and friends and take her photographs. One of her photographs of Blarney Castle has appeared on a charity cd made for the town of Blarney in County Cork. She is always willing to share a matted print for charity raffles in the area and her photos can be found hanging in businesses in southern New Jersey where she lives. When visiting Ireland, she spends most of her time around the Kinsale area of County Cork. She enjoys Irish music, brings musicians to the US and follows many Irish sports, including rugby and the GAA.
Celtic Scenes is not a large company, in fact just one person. This enables Lisa to be able to give the attention each photograph warrants. Matting and framing are done to your requirements, with almost any requests fulfilled. Special requests are very welcome for a particular town, surname, castle etc and every attempt will be made to work it into the next trip. All photos were taken by Lisa in Ireland. They are limited editions and not mass produced. She will be at many festivals this year, the upcoming ones are always listed at www.celticscenes.com/locations.html Stop by and say hello.
